One Faith!     One Town.................................................One Catholic Youth Group!    

 

Holy Spirit and St. Michael’s Parishes have combined efforts to better serve all our teens!    Our Youth Group is now a joint Ministry and all High School students are welcomed and encourage to get involved.

 

Here is what our Youth Ministry Program has to offer...

 

 

Ø     Weekly Topic Nights

Dinner Dance, Medieval Times, Great Adventure, Ski Trip and more

Programs

 

Discussion Topic Nights

Weekly Topic Nights will be run from 7:30-9pm during the school year.   Meetings will be held at St. Michael’s Parish.  

Catholic Tradition and outlooks will be shared on a variety of topics. 

 

(Topic Examples:  Peer Pressure, Relationships, Teen Depression, Parents, Self-Image, Respect Life, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Violence, Teaching Mass, The Bible and anything the teens would like to talk about)    Expert Guest Speakers will also give presentations.

  

Community Service Projects

Service projects will be offered every month.  They will include visits to the Quadriplegic Center, Nursing Home, Homeless Shelter, Autistic Children, Charity Fundraisers, working with Physically Handicapped Children and others.

 

Leadership Training

Teens will be offered positions on our Core Team of officers.  These positions are elected and appointed.  Teens will be offered leadership training as well as opportunities to mentor younger members.  Core Team Officers will meet regularly with the Youth Minister to plan all youth events. 

 

Retreats

One large retreat will be offered each year for all members to attend.  Smaller retreats will also be run.   Teens will be offered positions as Speech Presenters and as small Group Leaders. 

 

Social Activities

Positive Social Activities will be offered throughout the year.  They can include Ski Trip, Great Adventure, Medieval Times, Broadway Show, Christmas Dinner Dance, Virginia Beach /Summer Trip and others.

 

Meetings are held every Tuesday Evening from 7:30-9pm in St. Michael’s Lower Church.  (1212 Kelly St.)  Please enter through the door up from Orange Ave.
